ABSTRACT

Life is a whole with its matter and meaning. In the XIIIth century, during the period of the Seljuk State of Turkey in Anatolia, this understanding was adopted and put into practice. In the understanding of Ahilism, which accepts the human being as a social being, the proverb “What's in one hand is in two hands” determines the flow of life. The hierarchy of squireapprentice- journeyman and master is not only the basic criterion of acquiring a profession in Ahilik, but also enables the sensitivity of raising responsible people in a humanitarian and Islamic climate. In this respect, on the one hand, Ahilik idealizes the proverb “art is the golden bracelet” and idealizes taking the burden, not being a burden, and on the other hand, with the understanding of futüvvet, which it is spiritually nourished, it brings individuals who do not surrender to things to the social structure. "No art and profession can be learned from a book. They must be learned from the master. Even holding a spoon and eating yogurt is possible with motherly training", Ahi Evran drew attention to the importance of learning by practicing centuries ago. It was Ahi Evran who said, “Useless knowledge is a burden on the heart”, pointing out that knowledge can only be profitable if it is put into practice. Ahi Evran, who was spiritually nourished by our beloved prophet who encouraged and commended working and production by holding the calloused hand of Muaz b. Jabal, one of the Companions, and saying “Hell will not burn this hand”, is a system that brought together professional organizations in Kayseri in the XIIIth century and established the first industrial site in the world. We should be pleased to say that in some of our country's (Turkey) secondary schools, the Ahi system has started to be partially implemented, albeit theoretically. Within this framework, for the first time in higher education in our country (Türkiye), the Ahi course is given to all students as an elective course at KTO Karatay University. Our hope is that this practice will become widespread. The Ahi system, some of the principles of which we have mentioned above, has been piloted at Istanbul Technical University Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School with a project titled “Ahi in Education and Teamwork”. With this project; it is aimed that the students in our school adopt the team spirit, create synergy by coming together in a physical environment, have self-confidence, and experience the pleasure of winning by sharing. In the formation of the team spirit that we put into practice in the process of acquiring a profession, not only the students physically came together, but also volunteer representatives from certain sectors and university students were included in the scope of our project. With this project we are implementing, we expect our students to add value to the economy of our country by realizing the understanding of “those who work with reason and morality and pass us”, which is one of the basic principles of Ahmadism. As it is understood from the surveys we conducted about this ongoing project, both our students and company representatives have made promising evaluations. With our study, we aim to provide the following gains. Practical thinking, increased ability to produce solutions, infrastructure in accordance with world standards, cohesion / solidarity, learning by using body language, rapid maturation / maturation, developing solutions according to needs, sharing success, restraining ego. producing projects instead of complaints.
